It is with sadness we all heard of the death of Frank Beattie. The man who captained us to our only league championship and an extremely popular and respected man in these parts. Rest in peace.

Sure, we could have kept the ball down and played to feet, we could have broken quicker when we were in possession, we could have been more composed in front of goal and we could have closed them down when they were advancing from the gaping midfield, but the stats tell another story…

But they got that penalty and they took their chance which resulted when O’Leary came out in mistake and missed a tackle, leaving a big gap in the middle of defence. When Hooky and Brown couldn’t prevent the square ball it was a simple tap-in.
